ALT recently hosted a webinar as part of  our work with the Further Higher Education Digital Accessibility Working Group (FHEDAWG). In this webinar Ben Watson and Daniel Clark of the University of Kent discussion accessibility and inclusivity in relation to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Virtual Learning Environments. The webinar was facilitated by Elizabeth Charles, Trustee of ALT, and Maren Deepwell, chief executive. A recording of this session is available from the event page.
A huge thank you to the Co-Chairs, conference Committee, and all the speakers and delegates for creating a wonderful conference in Galway, Ireland, last week. If you missed this event of would like to explore we have the voices from OER19 in posts, resources and videos written by the community and you can also watch videos of the live streamed sessions on the OER19 site or in this YouTube playlist.
The Assembly is the overarching Member committee advising the ALT Board of Trustees. The Assembly is chaired by the President of ALT, Martin Weller, and provides greater representation for Members and in particular Member groups, in the governance of the Association. The next online  meeting of the ALT Assembly is 07 May 2019 at 12:30 BST. The event page has more information about the next meeting and instructions on how to participate.
Come and learn about gamification and discuss best practice at the next ALT East England meeting. UEA will be sharing their work, and we’re also looking for members to share ideas, debates or what you’ve been doing along related themes (whether issues in gamification or game-based learning such as simulations, virtual and augmented reality, role play, scenarios etc.). A call for speakers is open until 29 April 2019. More information on submitting a session and/or registering for this meeting can be found on this event page.

Women & Leadership International is administering a national initiative to support the development of female leaders across the UK’s education technology sector. The campaign is providing women with grants of up to £1,000 to enable participation in a leadership development program. The scholarship funding is provided with the specific intent of providing a powerful and effective development opportunity for education technology sector women; however the funding is strictly limited and has to be allocated prior to the end of May. iLRN invites the ALT community to attend its annual conference. The event, hosted at the University of Westminster (Cavendish Campus), aims to develop the scientific, technical, and applied potential of immersive learning. This year's theme is "Immersive Learning in Urban Environments".
