The topic of this meeting is ‘Working Together to Design Modules’. This meeting will be an opportunity to share and discuss the processes that we use to engage with academic staff when helping them design modules and activities that make good use of learning technologies. The format will be a series of short 10-minute presentations followed by round-table discussions under Chatham House rules, allowing us to dig into some of the challenges and hopefully find some innovative solutions. There will also be a longer activity based on the ABC Learning Design method developed by UCL and now extensively used at Aston. Registration is free, but places are limited https://go.alt.ac.uk/2J4SRe5
Registration is free and gives you access to amazing sessions delivered by experts from around the globe: http://ow.ly/Luf850jjOvl
Registration and the Call for Papers are now open. The challenge for learning technologists and lecturers alike is to separate the long-lasting solutions from the lemons. Which tools and approaches should you invest your time, reputation (and money) in? Some will be short-lived fads (think Second Life), some may fail from the start (Sinclair C5), but others might turn out to be the future of learning. How do you tell? Is it wrong to experiment with a fad or failure? We encourage you to submit your stories of using technologies that you think are a fad, a failure or the future and share what you've learnt from doing this. #durbbu. Deadline for proposals: 30 Nov 2018: https://tinyurl.com/durbbu19
