Announcing the next #OER20 featured speaker

This year the conference is going to have a number of featured speakers for our plenary sessions. Instead of traditional keynotes this year’s plenary sessions will have different formats and include more than one individual, inviting conversation and collaboration. Last week, we announced ZEMOS98 as our next featured speaker. They are a Spain based non-profit organization that develops mediation processes that activate relationships between activists, artists, academics, foundations and public institutions. One of its main lines of works is Pedagogy of Care: an interdisciplinary research project on care economy, collaborative activism and open source democracy. You can find out more about them here: https://go.alt.ac.uk/36uAl9H

OER20 early bird registration open until 31 January

There are just over two weeks left to register as an Early Bird for the 2020 Open Education Research Conference, which will take place at Resource for London, London between 1-2 April 2020. This practice-focused day brings together a range of communities to explore the challenges of teaching reading for academic purposes, and share interesting and innovative methods.
We welcome proposals for 45-minute workshops on themes such as innovative approaches to teaching or supporting academic reading and the use of digital technologies to support critical reading. Further details can be found at the conference webpage.

- Considerations for making your recorded content as accessible as possible (including captioning)

The webinar will include live captions, provided by Panopto’s UK-based captioning partner Ai-Media.

The details of the webinar are as follows:

EMLT webinar: Microsoft Office365: What have we done about using it with students?

We would like the session to be made up of presentations from the community – 10 minutes (with an additional 5 mins for questions) - where you tell us about the approaches you have taken to using Microsoft Office 365 (or alternatives) with students. This can be from the perspective of the tutor or learner.
We would really like to hear from people across sectors from higher education, further education, schools, adult learning and the corporate sector.
If you are interested then please complete the form. Closing date for submitting ideas is 5pm on Friday 24th January 2020:

EMLT Microsoft Office365: What have we done about using it with students?

Our winter meeting of the East Midlands Learning Technologists group is due to take place as an online webinar on Wednesday 5th February 2020, 12:00-13:30.
Following on from the successful event we held on this topic in 2018 we wanted to explore where people have taken the use of Office365 and in particular Teams since this point. Although we are focusing on Microsoft tools we would also be keen to hear from people who are utilising alternatives to this as there is a lot of cross-over between this and other systems (e.g. Google). All welcome.
Please complete the booking form -
